Password protected file

I created a folder called Archive, which contains File1 and File2. I then made a password protected .zip of the file Archive.

When double-clicking the .zip so that it launches with Apple's built in utility, it says: "Please enter password for File1" rather than for "Archive", thus exposing the name of a file inside the password protected folder.

Any way to prevent that?

Create a 7z file instead of a zip file and be sure to check the "encrypt filenames" option :)

Can those be opened by anyone as easily as a .zip or do they require special software?

Almost all the software nowadays supports 7z format, but I don't know any OS that supports it by default. So the answer must be "special software" :D
